As the Swan Reflects so too Does Benin

Today marks the unofficial end of my Internet marketing education at Full Sail University.  To say that this has been a long and tough year would be a gross understatement.  But I’d count both the completion Full Sail’s Internet Marketing Master’s of Science program and the birth of my second daughter as crowning highlights of an otherwise uniquely challenging year.

Interestingly, I went into the degree program thinking that I knew everything or at least most things about Internet marketing and a year later I come out with the understanding that although my knowledge of the subject is probably more pronounced than your everyday lay person there are still worlds of separation between me and the entire spectrum of web marketing.

Thus, in this sense my Internet marketing education will never end and in a sense one could easily argue that it is only just beginning.  In addition to getting heavy duty training about the major facets of web marketing including:

• Branding
• Online PR & Social Media
• Organic SEO
• Paid Search & PPC
• E-mail Marketing
• Web Measurement & Testing

I also walk away from my Full Sail experience with a much tighter grasp on some of the intangibles of professional life such as how to effectively manage an informative and effective presentation, as well as how to write concise marketing proposals and reports.  One of the things that I am immensely looking forward to is working with more small businesses owners who are seeking direction with their online marketing plans.
